The Town of LaSalle is preparing for a landmark 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, which will be conducted exclusively online. Digital polls open Friday, October 16 at 10 a.m. and remain available 24/7 until Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m., allowing eligible electors to vote conveniently from any computer or wireless device, whether at home or on the go.
To participate, voters must be on the official Voters’ List. Voter Information Letters—containing the unique PIN required for online voting—will be mailed to all names on the list beginning in early October. Residents are strongly encouraged to verify and update their information ahead of voting. From September 1 through the close of polls, voters can check, update, or add themselves to the Voters’ List at the LaSalle Civic Centre (5950 Malden Road) or via an online application. Updates may include changes of name or address, changes in property ownership, or removing a deceased person from the list.
For those who need assistance, Voter Help Centres will be open at the Civic Centre starting October 16, with additional Pop-Up Help Centres at the Vollmer Centre and LaSalle Landing Event Centre. These centres will provide support for registering to vote, updating voter information, obtaining Voter Information Letters, and navigating the online voting system.
On Election Day, October 26, voters may continue to update their information at the Civic Centre until polls close at 8 p.m., provided they are inside the building before closing time. Voters should remember to bring valid identification for any changes made in person.
As part of the lead-up to the election, the Town is hosting a Meet the Candidates event on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Event Centre. This informal gathering invites residents to meet and speak directly with candidates for LaSalle Town Council and School Board Trustee positions. There will be no debate or formal Q&A session, and no registration is necessary. All residents are welcome to attend and learn more about each candidate’s background, priorities, and vision in a relaxed, conversational setting.
Attendees at the Meet the Candidates event will also have the opportunity to check their Voters’ List status or update their information on site. Valid ID will be required for any changes. For a certified list of candidates participating in the 2026 LaSalle election, visit www.lasalle.ca/candidates.
