Community members, friends and relatives gathered Saturday at the newly installed memorial bench dedicated to Elizabeth Emilia Kathleen Hutchings in front of the Tilbury Post Office.
The bench was created through the Tilbury BIA as part of ongoing public-space improvements. Local business owner Dave Hutchings approached the BIA earlier this year to purchase a bench in memory of his daughter, working with Fabmaster in Ridgetown to design a piece that reflected Elizabeth’s life and the impact she had on those around her.
The installation carried added meaning, taking place on the first anniversary of Elizabeth’s passing.
Family, friends and neighbours came together for a Celebration of Life, gathering at the bench to share memories and reflect on Elizabeth’s legacy.
