The grounds of Hume’s Auction Farm will come alive with the sounds of vintage machinery as Steam-Era returns to North Halton this Labour Day weekend.
The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 4, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 6 and will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Labour Day.
Ticket details
An early bird discount on tickets is available for $10 until Aug. 23. After Aug. 23, tickets will be $15 for general admission. A $35 weekend pass will also be available at the gate during the event.
Children 12 and under are admitted for free.
Tickets can be purchased on the Steam-Era event website.
Early bird ticket buyers will also be placed in a draw. The grand prize is a Weber Searwood Pellet Grill. The second place prize is $400 in coupons at Maple Lodge Farms Chicken Shop outlet. Third place prize is $200 in coupons at Maple Lodge Farms Chicken Shop outlet.
What to expect
Presented by the Ontario Steam and Antique Preservers Association, the annual event celebrates Canada’s agricultural and industrial heritage through live demonstrations featuring gas engines, steam traction engines, antique tractors and vintage cars.
The weekend will be filled with activities including tractor games and threshing competitions, steam-powered equipment displays and a range of family-friendly activities.
This year’s show also carries a feature theme of “the evolution of Oliver — Nichols & Shepard, Hart-Parr and Oliver.”
Collectors and enthusiasts are invited to bring their Hart-Parr and Oliver tractors to the show, though all makes and models are welcome on the grounds.
