Warrior Women recently brought its six‑city concert and empowerment series spotlighting female musical talent and community support to Windsor. The event took place on Friday, September 18 at Lion’s Head Tavern, drawing a packed crowd for an evening of music, advocacy, and community fundraising.
Curated by Rose Cora Perry—frontwoman of The Truth Untold—the series raises funds for Yellow Brick House, supporting women and children escaping domestic violence and abuse. The 19+ event featured a $10 admission and kicked off at 7 p.m.
Across its tour, Warrior Women showcased 24 female‑fronted bands, five guest speakers, and 21 female‑owned businesses in Niagara Falls, Windsor, London, Toronto, Hamilton, and Sarnia. For Perry, herself a survivor of domestic abuse, the mission remains deeply personal. “We’re doing more than just celebrating female talent. We’re making a real difference in women’s lives,” she said.
Perry developed Warrior Women while seeking more performance opportunities in Southwest Ontario. As more women in the music industry shared their experiences, she saw a chance to build a supportive, empowering space. The response was overwhelming: “I had to turn away bands because there were too many to book,” she said.
The Windsor lineup featured Moonsuits, The Ashley Lynn Experience, Harbouring Illusions, Electric Muscle Car, and The Truth Untold. For Electric Muscle Car’s Jennifer LeFrank, the cause resonated deeply. “This is near to my heart—my mother worked to open the first women’s shelter in St. Thomas in the 1970s. Shelters like Yellow Brick House are still needed today.”
LeFrank, who fronts Electric Muscle Car with Warren Fisher (bass) and Scott Weingarden (drums/vocals), said the night was meaningful: “Thanks to women like Rose, we can help people in need. What better way than through music? It was a rockin’ night!”
Each stop paired local bands with The Truth Untold, spotlighting homegrown female talent. Windsor’s event also welcomed guest speaker Chantal Vallée, head coach of the Lancers’ women’s basketball team and motivational author. “She kicked off the event, pumped up the crowd, and celebrated everything women can achieve together,” Perry said.
Local businesses stepped up as well. Steel N Ink offered a 10% discount on tattoos of the concert series logo, Better Days Tattoo donated three gift certificates valued at 600–900 for a ticket draw, and Healthy Creations Bakery handed out free cookies to the first 50 attendees.
The Truth Untold debuted new material during the Windsor show, performing unreleased tracks from their upcoming EP, Battle Cry, set for release in November. “Hence Warrior Women and the Battle Cry tour,” Perry explained.
Blending music, female entrepreneurship, community advocacy, and support for survivors, Warrior Women proved to be more than a concert series—it was a powerful reminder of what women can achieve together.
