Halton Regional Police is asking for the public’s help as investigators look into two overnight shooting incidents in Georgetown on consecutive days this week.

While both incidents involved shots fired at residences and parked vehicles, police note no physical injuries were reported in either event.

Aug. 4 shooting

On Tuesday, Aug. 4 at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near Eighth Line and 5 Sideroad.

Upon arrival, police confirmed that multiple rounds were fired at a home and vehicles parked in the driveway.

According to police, the home was occupied at the time of the shooting.

Police note that a vehicle was observed fleeing the area and believe it was an isolated incident with no known ongoing threat to public safety.

Police are requesting anyone with dashcam, doorbell camera or home security footage from the area of Eighth Line between 5 and 10 Side Roads, between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m.

Aug. 5 shooting

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, police responded to a second shooting at approximately 3 a.m. on James Young Drive.

Police investigation revealed that several bullets were fired into a home and a vehicle parked in the driveway. One round severed a natural gas line.

Police say suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police are asking anyone with doorbell camera, home security camera or dashcam footage of anything suspicious in the area of James Young Drive at 3 a.m.

Anyone who observed suspicious activity or possesses video footage related to either investigation is urged to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2416.
