Chatham‑Kent police responded to a series of incidents across the municipality over the past week, resulting in multiple arrests in Wallaceburg, Chatham, and Tilbury.

Police say a 42‑year‑old Wallaceburg woman was arrested Monday afternoon on James Street after officers on patrol located her under an unendorsed warrant for failing to attend court. She was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Later that day, officers responded to an April 28 assault at Taylor Park in Chatham, where two 13‑year‑old youths reported being harassed and assaulted by a group of teens. One victim suffered minor injuries. A 15‑year‑old Chatham girl turned herself in on May 5 and was released with conditions and a July 8 court date.

Police also reported an assault with a weapon stemming from a March 26 incident on Gillard Street in Wallaceburg. A woman told officers she was approached by an unknown female who asked to use her phone and then threw a beer can at her when she refused. Video evidence and a later online identification led police to a 30‑year‑old Chatham‑Kent woman, who was arrested May 4 by Walpole Island Police. She was released with conditions and a June 22 court date.

In Tilbury, a 34‑year‑old Essex County man was arrested Tuesday night after police received a complaint about a vehicle unable to maintain its lane on Queens Line. Officers say they believed the driver was impaired by alcohol. He faces two impaired‑driving charges and is scheduled to appear in court June 29.

That same night in Chatham, police responded to a disturbance at a licensed establishment on Grand Avenue East. A 22‑year‑old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats and one count of assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

On Wednesday morning, officers were called to a break‑and‑enter on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Two men were arrested and charged with break and enter with intent. A 41‑year‑old Chatham man was released with a July 28 court date, while a 34‑year‑old Chatham man was released with an August 10 court date.

Police also reported two intimate partner violence arrests this week. A 33‑year‑old Chatham woman was charged Wednesday with failing to comply with probation and an undertaking. She was held pending a bail hearing. On Thursday, a 19‑year‑old Toronto man was arrested in Chatham and charged with assault following a disturbance call. He was also held for a bail hearing.

In a separate Tilbury incident Thursday morning, a 22‑year‑old local man was arrested after a collision on Azar Avenue. Police say they believed he was impaired by alcohol. He faces two impaired‑driving charges and is scheduled to appear in court June 19.
